Through our partnership with Berco, a global OEM undercarriage manufacturer, KBX Mechanical provides complete undercarriage management solutions for mining and heavy equipment fleets.
From our Mackay facility, we can support the full undercarriage lifecycle — inspection, condition monitoring, maintenance, repair, reconditioning, component supply and replacement — providing customers with a genuine OEM alternative focused on reliability, machine availability and reducing whole-of-life undercarriage costs.
Our facility is equipped with an in-house Berco track press, allowing our team to complete pin and bush turns, track link repairs and complete chain work locally. We also supply and fit chains, rollers, idlers, sprockets, segments and associated undercarriage components across CAT, Komatsu and Hitachi dozers and excavators.
Our capabilities extend beyond component replacement. KBX provides roller, idler and track frame reconditioning, including complete track frame overhauls, helping customers maximise component life before replacement becomes necessary.
Condition tracking & wear management
Our Condition Tracking System (CTS) combines ultrasonic wear measurement with laser and calliper profiling to accurately monitor undercarriage condition throughout its operating life.
Rather than relying on reactive replacement, CTS allows wear to be tracked over time, providing customers with meaningful data on component condition, wear rates and projected remaining life.
This information can be used to:
- Forecast component replacement and overhaul requirements
- Plan maintenance around shutdowns and operational schedules
- Identify abnormal or accelerated wear
- Maximise usable component life
- Reduce unplanned undercarriage failures
- Better understand and control undercarriage cost per operating hour
